Long Term Health Conditions

People with long term health conditions such as diabetes, chronic lung and heart diseases, cancer and mental health are the recipients of the majority of health and social care provided in Cambridgeshire. Consequently any innovations in technology, service design and workforce deployment which can improve the quality of care or make better use of scarce resources can make a large-scale impact on our lives and community.

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough HIEC

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Health Innovation and Education Cluster (HIEC) is a venture, managed by Cambridge University Health Partners, which brings together the talents of academics, clinicians, managers, commercial suppliers and entrepreneurs to address the manifold needs of people with long term conditions.

The HIEC, one of seventeen similar clusters across the country, initiates and funds education projects and innovation projects which cut across traditional health and care boundaries to improve the lives of patients and their carers.
