Cambridge University Health Partners (CUHP) Announces the Appointment of a Director of Education

The new post will lead the development of a clinical education strategy for CUHP and aims to promote healthcare education offered across the regional healthcare economy.

Dr Gupta, who joins CUHP from his post of Director of Postgraduate Education at Cambridge University Hospitals, will start his new role by creating a Multiprofessional Healthcare Education Board to bring together the key personnel from the four CUHP partner organisations with the aim of streamlining healthcare education. The Board will include Directors of Medical Education, Directors of Nursing and leaders of pharmacy services, healthcare scientists and HR from all three NHS partners and representatives from the University of Cambridge.
"CUHP offers the opportunity to combine the strengths in healthcare education of each of the partners. It is vital that we maintain and develop the healthcare education sector to make sure we continue to produce excellent clinicians in the future." Said Dr Gupta.
"Through the Healthcare Education Board we have the opportunity to not only remove duplication among partners, but to really benefit from the economies of scale which can be created by joining forces – this can lead to the development of more clinical education opportunities and allow us to provide clinical education opportunities to the regional healthcare economy in primary, secondary and tertiary care." Added Dr Gupta.
The Healthcare Education Board aims to encourage the development of new clinical education opportunities, gain accreditation for existing high-quality education already being provided by CUHP partners and promote Cambridge as the centre for clinical education.
